Last time out 

  • Seven Minutewomen recorded multi-goal outings, while 14 different UMass players recorded goals in the victory. Alex Finn led in points on two goals and three assists, while Kelly MarraOlivia Muscella, and Julia Smith each contributed four, in the Minutewomen's victory against Duquesne. 
  • Brinley Anderson led the defensive effort, recording three caused turnovers and five ground balls, while Jordan Dean notched a career high, eight draw controls.
  • Gina Carroll picked up her eighth win of the season, splitting time with Bridgett Wall in the victory.

The Series vs. VCU 

  • The Minutewomen hold a 3-1 record against VCU. 
  • The teams met in 2016 for the first time, with the last meeting in 2019.
The Series vs. George Mason 

  • Massachusetts currently sits at 7-0 in the all-time series with the Patriots, with their first meeting taking place in 2014. 
The Last Time vs. the Patriots 

  • Haley Connaughton tied the UMass single-game record with 10 points as part of an offensive explosion in the Minutewomen's 24-5 win over George Mason at Garber Field. 
  • As a team, UMass shot 24-of-39 for the game (61.5 percent) and won 17-of-29 draws. In goal, Gina Carroll made a pair of stops in the final 13 minutes of play.

The Last Time vs. the Rams  

  • Overall, the Minutewomen (7-3, 2-0 A-10) had nine players record goals in the contest. Haley Connaughton (3 goals, 1 assist), Olivia Muscella (2 goals) among those goalscorers. 
  • Gina Carroll closed out the final 11 minutes of action, making three saves.

Head Strong

  • The Massachusetts women's lacrosse program participated in the Head Strong Foundations, Hair Havoc game for cancer on March 5 against UConn. 
  • Learn more about headstrong foundation here.
  • Under the Headstrong Foundation, graduate midfielder, Olivia Muscella has created Kendra's Kindness Foundation in honor of her mother. All proceeds from the March 5 contest were donated to families effected by cancer in the name of the Kendra's Kindness Foundation. 
  • The fundraiser is a season-long effort as the Minutewomen work to benefit more families impacted my cancer. 
Rams this season 

  • VCU enters the weekend at 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the league standings. The Rams will travel to UMass on Friday ahead of their match with the Dukes on Sunday.
  • The Rams opened A-10 play last weekend with a win over George Mason, before falling to La Salle 12-11 on Sunday.
  • VCU leads the NCAA with a save percentage of 54.3 percent, thanks largely to the play of goalie Meghna Dawar.
  • Dawar is the national leader with a save percentage of 55.4 percent and ranks second in the country with 13.11 saves per game. Her 118 saves this season is third in Division I.
  • Offensively, Kelsey McDonnell ranks sixth in the A-10 with 23 goals scored.
  • Leah Spalding slots eighth in the league with 1.33 caused turnovers per game.
  • Nicole Flores is in her first season as head coach. She spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Stanford.
  • VCU was picked to finish sixth in the A-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Patriots this season 

  • George Mason enters the weekend at 1-8 overall and 0-0 in the league standings. 
  • This will be the opening weekend of A-10 play for the Patriots. 
  • Currently sitting at 7th in the A-10 for goals per game, and points per game. 
  • Holding sixth place in assists per game as a team. 
  • Megan Dehan sits at 7th in conference in saves per game. 
  • Lauren Distad currently leads the team with 19 points on the season with 15 goals. 
  • VU was picked to finish sixth in the A-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Leading the Pack

  • Kendra Harbinger currently sits atop the A10 in three categories leading the league with 25 goals averaging 3.33 goals per game, and four points per game, while Alex Finn sits at seventh in assists per game with 1.33. 
  • Harbinger also sits at third in the A-10 in goals per game, while Alex Finn currently sits in fifth. 
  • Junior Audra Tosone sits at number two in the conference in ground balls and caused turnovers per game. 
  • Haley Connaughton sits at sixth all-time in scoring at UMass with 205 points. 
  • With her 200th win, Angela McMahon-Serpone further solidified her spot as the winningest coach in program history. 
  • The Minutewomen are No. 1 in the A-10 in goals per game, points per game. 
  • The Minutewomen lead the league and rank fifth in Division I with 12.12 caused turnovers per game.
  • UMass is currently fourth in scoring offense nationally, and 4th in clear percentage.
