Minutewomen Fall To Rams In Series Finale

Kendra Allen recorded a team-leading four hits for a UMass squad that finished with 12 in the game.
Kendra Allen posted a team-leading four hits in the game on four trips to the plate while Amy Smith added three hits for a team that finished with 12 on the day.
Rhode Island took an early 3-0 lead in their first trip to the plate before the Minutewomen scored four runs total in the third and fourth innings to go ahead 4-3.
UMass took advantage of a URI fielding error to score their first runs of the game as Caroline Deem drove in Allen with a RBI single to right field before Smith scored following the error.
Caroline Videtto tied things up at 3-3 with a RBI single to left field that brought in Deem to wrap up the third inning. Jules Shields brought it Payge Suggs on a sacrifice fly to left field to put UMass ahead 4-3. Shields was part of another run scoring effort in the sixth inning as the Rams committed another error in the outfield to allow Allen to score.
Rhode Island regained the lead in the fifth inning on a two-run home run before plating four in the seventh to bring the game to an 11-5 final.
