Devon Miller throws a five-inning no hitter for the Rams.
BRONX, N.Y. – University of Massachusetts softball dropped its series finale at Fordham on Sunday afternoon, falling 10-0 to the Rams in a no-hitter. The Minutewomen now sit at 13-16 on the season, while Fordham improves to 35-5 on the year.
The Rams began the contest with a 3-0 lead courtesy of a three-run home run by Rachel Hubertus in the bottom of the first. Fordham added another six runs in the second on a pair of three-run shots by Julia Martine and Bella Ayala. The squad then capped the scoring in the third with an RBI single by Madie Aughinbaugh.
Caroline Videtto and Bella Pantoja drew walks in the third and Kristina Day was hit by a pitch in the fifth, but UMass left all three runners on base.
Fordham's Devon Miller struck out eight and walked two over five innings. Jessie DiPasquale let up 10 runs on 11 hits with one walk and one strikeout for the Minutewomen.
UMass will be back in action on Friday, May 7, with its series opener against Rhode Island slated for 3 p.m. at Sortino Field.
