Trainor Earns Inside Lacrosse All-America

Men's lacrosse program's all-time highest scoring midfielder picked for honorable mention
BALTIMORE - University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse midfielder Jeff Trainor earned placement on the 2021 Inside Lacrosse All-America Team as an honorable mention selection, as announced by the organization on Sunday evening. Trainor, who completed a graduate student year in 2021, picked up his second consecutive Inside Lacrosse All-America award and was one of only 15 offensive midfielders recognized on the 2021 listing.
Trainor impacted all facets of the team's midfield play during 2021 as he ran with the first and second-line offensive units, during clear and ride situations, as a member of the faceoff wing and during defensive sets as a short-stick midfielder. He posted 18 points on nine goals and nine assists, grabbed 22 groundballs and caused seven turnovers during the 10-game season.
The Billerica, Massachusetts, native concluded his UMass playing days as the program's all-time highest scoring midfielder with 147 points through 85 goals and 62 assists. Among the program's all-time record-holders regardless of position, Trainor finished tied for 16th in points, 18th in assists and 21st in goals. He also tied for the 21st-most caused turnovers in team history.
Trainor departs Massachusetts for the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) where he will suit up for the Archers LC during the upcoming PLL campaign. Archers LC drafted Trainor in the third round with the 18th overall selection in the 2021 PLL Collegiate Draft. He reunites with former teammate and faceoff specialist Noah Rak '18 and will play alongside UMass Class of 2013 attack Will Manny on the Archers.
