Senior started at attack and produced career-best nine points

RICHMOND, Va. - The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse senior Kevin Tobin as the CAA Player of the Week on Tuesday. Tobin started at attack during the 21-14 win at Fairfield and produced a career-best nine points via three goals and six assists.

Tobin, who primarily plays as a member of the first- and second-line midfields, made the most of his time at attack against the Stags. He tallied the program's first individual performance of nine or more points since Kyle Smith had as many on six goals and three assists in the 16-8 win over Delaware on April 26, 2013. Tobin provided an offensive boost in the second half with four points each in the third and fourth quarters as Massachusetts turned an 8-7 halftime lead into the 21-14 win.

Tobin recorded his 100th career point on his first goal of the day, scored with 11:06 to play in the third quarter. He is the 44th all-time UMass men's lacrosse student-athlete to surpass 100 career points. Massachusetts' 21 goals scored marked the most in one game by the program since a 23-2 win over Boston College on March 21, 2001.

Massachusetts concludes the regular season with a Fri., April 30 game at No. 12 Delaware. First faceoff is set for 5 p.m.
