AMHERST, Mass. – After more than a week off, the No. 17 UMass women's lacrosse team will head on the road for the first time this season on Monday when the Minutewomen travel to UMass Lowell for a 3:30 p.m. showdown on ESPN+.

Monday marks the second-ever meeting between the two programs, and the first since 2015. In that first matchup, Massachusetts used a balanced scoring attack along with strong transition defense in an 18-4 win over the River Hawks. The game was the first-ever for the River Hawks program as UML officially began its program in 2013.

Road warriors
Dating back to last season, the Minutewomen have won four straight regular season road games, outscoring their opponents 69-45.

No. 22 Dartmouth knocks off UMass, 15-11
Haley Connaughton (four goals, two assists) and Kaitlyn Cerasi (three goals, three assists) had six points apiece, but No. 22 Dartmouth received a combined nine goals from Ellie Carson (five goals, one assist) and Sophia Turchetta (four goals, one assist) to knock off the No. 13 UMass women's lacrosse team (1-1) on Feb. 15 at Garber Field, 15-11.

With the Minutewomen leading by one at the halftime, Dartmouth rattled off six of the first seven goals of the second half to open up a 12-8 advantage with 17 minutes to play. UMass would bring it within three midway through the half, but Turchetta added two goals in the final nine minutes to put the game out of reach.

UMass tops No. 5 Boston College for highest win in program history
After seeing No. 5 Boston College storm back to erase a four-goal deficit and take a 10-9 lead with 13 minutes to play, UMass responded in a massive way by scoring six of the game's final seven goals to knock off the Eagles on Feb. 8 at Garber Field, 15-11.

The win was UMass' first over a top-five team in the history of the program, and the first victory against a ranked opponent since beating No. 10 Colorado in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament.

UMass picked second in A-10 Preseason Poll
Richmond, the defending conference champion, was picked to win the league with six first-place votes, followed closely by the Minutewomen in second with four first-place votes. Saint Joseph's, George Mason and Duquesne were tabbed to finish in the third through fifth spots, respectively, followed by VCU, Davidson, George Washington, La Salle and St. Bonaventure.
