Men's Lacrosse Seeded First, Will Host CAA Championship

Minutemen will play No. 4 Drexel in Thursday's semifinal round

RICHMOND, Va. - The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) officially unveiled the full seedings for the upcoming CAA Championship on Saturday, with the University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse program the No. 1 seed and tournament host.

The semifinal round, in which UMass will face No. 4 Drexel, will begin on Garber Field at 5 p.m. on Thurs., May 2. The No. 2 seed, Towson will play No. 3 Delaware at 7 p.m. The winners of each game square off on Sat., May 4 at 1 p.m.

Massachusetts sealed its spot as the No. 1 seed with its 11-9 victory over Delaware at Garber Field on Fri., April 26, but the remaining seeds were not determined until Towson's victory at Drexel on Saturday.

The Minutemen finished the CAA regular season at 4-1, which Towson matched; however, UMass received the No. 1 seed with its head-to-head victory over the Tigers. Delaware went 3-2 against CAA foes while Drexel ended 2-3.
