Paparo Picked As CAA Player of the Week

Senior close defenseman totaled 14 groundballs, six caused turnovers and three points
RICHMOND, Va. - University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse senior close defenseman Isaac Paparo earned CAA Player of the Week on Monday, as announced by the league office. Paparo had 14 groundballs, six caused turnovers and three points on two goals and an assist during wins over UMass Lowell on Tues., March 12 and Utah on Sun., March 17.
Paparo split his groundballs evenly between the two games while he posted four caused turnovers against Utah and two versus UMass Lowell. The Westport, Connecticut, native scored twice against the River Hawks and dished out an assist versus the Utes.
Massachusetts outscored UMass Lowell and Utah by a combined 30-6 margin thanks to the 14-4 final over the River Hawks and 16-2 win versus the Utes. It marked the first time UMass allowed six or fewer goals during a two-game week since the 1974 season
Fairfield goalie James Corasaniti won CAA Rookie of the Week as Fairfield used overtime for wins at Bryant, 12-11 and against Utah, 10-9.
Massachusetts continues its four-game homestand with a Sat., March 23 meeting with Brown (3-2). First faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
