Anderson Nets Seven Goals As Women's Lax Beats Ohio State 15-14.

Buckeyes make come back in final four minutes, but Minutewomen able to hold on for third straight win.
DeLAND, Fla. - Redshirt senior attack Kiley Anderson notched a game-high seven goals, including the game-winner as the UMass women's lacrosse team picked up a 15-14 win over Ohio State on Monday afternoon at Stetson University's Athletic Training Center. The win marked the third straight for the Minutewomen (4-2) who will remain in DeLand, Fla., to take on Niagara on Wednesday at 12 PM.
The goal total for Anderson was her second largest total for a single game this season. Earlier this season, she notched nine goals against Connecticut which still ranks as the most for a single-game this year in the NCAA. Cassidy Doster added a hat trick with three goals while Kaitlyn Cerasi (assist) and Olivia Muscella each had two. Stephanie Croke tallied a goal as well and Haley Connaughton had a game-high three assists. Caitlyn Petro hauled in a career-best 12 draw controls.
Gina Carroll picked up her fourth win over the year making nine saves, while her Ohio State (6-2) counterpart Jill Rizzo made 14 in the loss.
The Buckeyes were led by three goals from Baley Parrott (assist) and Ali Beekhhuizen. Sara Dickinson tallied two goals and an assist to round out the top scorers.
The teams traded goals to start the game before a pair of tallies just 36 seconds apart by Anderson put the Minutewomen up 4-2 at the 17:59 mark of the first half. Ohio State managed to tie the game on two more occasions in the first half before Anderson scored three straight in the final 7:22 giving UMass an 8-5 lead at the intermission.
Doster scored to open the second half, but OSU potted three straight of their own to pull back within a goal just six minutes into the stanza. UMass scored five of the next six goals, including two from Muscella, to build its lead back to 14-9 with 10:55 to go. After an Ohio State goal at the 5:07 mark, Anderson took a feed from Connaughton for what stood as the game winner under thirty second later.
The Buckeyes tallied four straight after that with all three from Parrott coming in the final 3:35 of the game, but Doster was able to secure a draw control in the final 42 seconds of play allowing the Minutewomen to run out the balance of the clock to preserve the win.
Overall, UMass held a 41-32 shot advantage and won 24-of-28 draw controls.Â
