MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List
Sophomore forward Davis Smith was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List last week coming off a freshman season where the Amherst, Mass. native led the Atlantic 10 champions in goals, assists and points on his way to A-10 Rookie of the Year and first-team all-league honors in 2017. Smith is just the second player in program history to make the list as Ben Arikian became the first to do so in both 2009 and 2010.
Fresh New Faces
The Minutemen welcomed in 11 new additions to the roster for the 2018 season, consisting of five transfers and six incoming freshman. The newcomers come from all over the nation and world, with six from the state of Massachusetts to go along with new members from New Hampshire, New York, Florida, Texas and Japan.
Looking Ahead
UMass is set to play 10 regular season games on their home grass at Rudd Field in 2018 as they will face Saint Peter's on August 31 at 4 p.m. for the regular season home opener. In addition to the three Atlantic 10 matches, the Minutemen will host three NCAA Tournament qualifiers in non-conference play, beginning with top-25 ranked Clemson on September 9 before taking on regional opponents in Dartmouth and New Hampshire on September 22 and 25.
