Paparo Selected For Inside Lacrosse All-America

Junior close defenseman wins first career all-America laurel

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse junior close defenseman Isaac Paparo (Westport, Conn.) collected his first collegiate all-America honor on Sunday as Inside Lacrosse announced its top players of the 2018 season. Paparo, the CAA Player of the Year and an All-CAA First Team choice, ended his third year as a member of the program with 45 groundballs, 25 caused turnovers and 13 points via five goals and eight assists.

Paparo, who was also chosen as a Tewaaraton Award Watch List candidate, had at least one groundball in 15 of his 17 appearances, with multiple in a dozen contests. He also had at least one caused turnover in 14 games.

In addition to his prominent efforts on defense, Paparo filled a dynamic role as a member of the transition offense with his career high 13 points. He had at least one point in 10 games played, including six over the final four games on three goals and as many assists. His 13 points marked the most for a longpole player in recorded team history.
