Minutewomen and Big Red to face each other in Sparks, Maryland.

AMHERST, Mass. - Riding a three-game win streak, the UMass women's lacrosse team faces another top challenge this Saturday as the Minutewomen take on No. 23 Cornell at the U.S. Lacrosse Headquarters' Tierney Field in Sparks, Maryland. This marks the first time the two programs have met since a dramatic win for the Maroon and White over the Big Red in the 2016 NCAA Tournament Second Round.

UMass (4-2) is coming off a thrilling 14-13 overtime win against Ohio State at Albright College last Sunday. Hannah Burnett scored the game-winning goal with 3:17 left in overtime after the Minutewomen rallied back from trailing the Buckeyes for much of the game. Burnett finished the game with four goals and an assist, while Kaitlyn Cerasi had three goals and an assist. Holly Turner earned A-10 Co-Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week with a two goal, five assist performance.

Cerasi tied the game against Ohio State with one second left in regulation thanks to a caused turnover by Burnett. Kasey Keane then forced a turnover in overtime that helped set-up the game-winning posession.

Turner continues to lead the UMass offense this season with 28 points on 15 goals and 13 assists. Burnett has a team-high 19 goals with four assists. Cerasi has also reached 20 points for the year with 12 goals and eight assists.

Kasey Keane is having a break-out year defensively with a team-best 16 caused turnovers and 21 groundballs. The senior had five caused turnovers and four groundballs in the win over Ohio State. In goal, Lauren Hiller is averaging nearly nine saves per game as the keeper of record for the Minutewomen.

Cornell (3-2) enters the weekend having won two straight games over Colgate and Columbia. The two losses this year for the Big Red came against No. 12 Penn State and No. 12 Penn.

The game will conclude the six-game road trip for the Minutewomen who will return home to Garber Field on Wednesday, March 21 to host Harvard. The opening draw is set for 7 PM and will be streamed online via the Atlantic 10 Digital Network.
