Minutewomen look to clinch A-10 regular-season title as GW, George Mason visit Garber.

AMHERST, Mass. – The final two home games of the regular season are on tap this weekend as the UMass women's lacrosse team hosts George Washington on Friday (2:30 p.m.) and George Mason on Sunday (1 p.m.) at Garber Field. Admission is free to both games which will also be streamed live on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network.

Sunday will also be Senior Day and Alumnae Day. The Minutewomen will honor all alumnae who graduated in a '7' year (1987, 1997, 2007) with a special halftime recognition. Following the game, UMass will honor its 2017 Senior Class: Sarah Crowley, Hannah Murphy, Callie Santos, Taylor Fischer, and Allison Ryan.

With only three games remaining in the regular season, the Minutewomen (11-3, 6-0 A-10) currently stand tied for first in the league with George Mason which is 10-4 overall and 6-0 in league play as well. George Washington enters the weekend at ninth in the league standings with a 2-11 record and a 1-5 mark in A-10 action. Sunday's match-up against the Patriots will potentially decide the regular-season champion of the league and the No. 1 overall seed in the A-10 Championship Tournament. UMass is looking to win its ninth consecutive league title this season.

UMass enters the weekend with a 51-game win streak in A-10 play alive which stands as an NCAA all-time record. After road wins at La Salle and St. Bonaventure last weekend, the Minutewomen have also won 10 straight games this spring.

Offensively, the Minutewomen feature six players who have 30-or-more points this season highlighted by Holly Turner's 52 points on 24 goals and 28 assists. Hannah Burnett is the team leader in goals with 39 and needs just two more points to pass the 50-point plateau. Santos and Kaitlyn Cerasi round out the top four scorers with 43 and 40 points, respectively.

Defensively, Lauren Hiller has been the goalie of record with a 10.71 goals-against-average and a .460 save percentage. Crowley anchors the group in front of Hiller with a team-high 35 caused turnovers and 43 groundballs. The senior was named the A-10 Defender of the Week on Tuesday marking her fourth honor of the season.

In the midfield, Murphy continues to have a dominant season with 127 draw controls to go with 29 goals and 10 assists. She is the NCAA leader in draw controls with 9.07 per game and ranks seventh in NCAA history with 437 for her career. She needs three more to move into sixth all-time and 33 to reach fifth.

Several Minutewomen continue to move up the all-time career program rankings as well. With 77 career caused turnovers, Crowley now ranks fifth all-time, while Murphy's 117 career goals ranks eighth and her 130 groundballs ranks 10th. Turner's 75 assists is tied for fifth all-time.

As a team, this year's edition of the Minutewomen are statistically one of the best offenses in program history. With three games remaining in the regular season, the 2017 team is averaging the most points per game (24.07), ranks second in goals per game (15.00), and has the most assists per game (9.07) than in any other season.

In the current NCAA rankings, UMass is among the top-10 this year in seven different categories including points per game (1st), assists per game (2nd), caused turnovers per game (3rd, 12.57), draw controls per game (2nd, 16.57) and free position percentage (1st, 0.625).

Murphy leads the NCAA in draw controls per game and ranks sixth in free position shot percentage (0.714). Crowley ranks 10th nationally in caused turnovers per game (2.50) while leading the Atlantic 10 as well.

Following this weekend's games, the Minutewomen will close out the regular season next Saturday, April 29 at Duquesne.
