Road Trip Starts Wednesday at Vermont for Men's Soccer

Minutemen take on Catamounts under the lights on Wednesday night.
AMHERST, Massachusetts - Coming off a 2-0 win over Brown on Saturday afternoon, the UMass men's soccer team heads back to the road for a pair of matches this week beginning Wednesday night at Vermont. The contest is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Virtue Field and will streamed live on the America East Digital Network.
In Saturday's win, Henry Steinkamp and Alexis DeSantis each scored first half goals while the Jorge Becerra and the defense pitched their first shutout of the season.
Steinkamp became the fifth Minuteman this season to score a goal, while DeSantis is the clubhouse leader in both goals (2) and points (6) - both tallies a career-best.
The clean sheet for Becerra marked the third of his career at UMass - a span of 16 matches since last season.
Vermont enters the tilt with a 7-1 overall record after a pair of wins last week. The Catamounts defeated Bryant 3-2 in double overtime on Wednesday before besting Marist 2-1 on Saturday.
Bernard Yeboah leads Vermont in scoring with eight goals, while Brian Wright holds the team lead in points (19) on five goals and nine assists. Eric Venezia and Aron Runarsson have each started four matches this year. Venezia has a 1.18 goals-against-average and a 0.722 save percentage with a 4-1 record. Runarsson has a 0.73 goals-against-average and a 0.786 save percentage and a 3-0 record.
Following the Vermont match, UMass will head to Hartford on Saturday night. Kickoff at Al-Marzook Field is set for 7 p.m.
