ITHACA, N.Y. ā The University of Massachusetts men's soccer team (4-5-3) picked up its second consecutive tie, 1-1, against No. 22 Cornell on Tuesday evening at Berman Field. The game was called in the 75th minute due to field conditions.Ā
Sophomore goalkeeper Crew Hartlage had an outstanding first career start and appearance, recording six saves, including a sequence where he fended off three consecutive shots from close range in the second half, to keep the game tied at one.Ā
Matthew Hawkins netted his first goal at Massachusetts, heading in a top left strike off a perfect corner feed from Thomas Wadas in the first half.Ā
Massachusetts faced its fifth ranked opponent of the season, and picked up its second draw, with the first coming against then-No. 10 Bryant during the season opener on August 20, with the game ended 2-2.Ā
