Leveille Selected For U.S. National Team

BALTIMORE - UMass men's lacrosse alumnus Kevin Leveille (2000-03) was selected on Tuesday afternoon by U.S. Lacrosse to participate in its upcoming 52-man national team training regiment. The U.S. National Team will be preparing for the International Lacrosse World Championships as the squad attempts to earn a record 10th title.

Leveille will compete as a member of the program at a series of fall and winter events, culminating with Champion Challenge, a US Lacrosse event, where players will vie for 23 spots on the final world championships roster. The annual event will once again be hosted Jan. 24-26 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The Delmar, N.Y., native ranks 13th all-time on the UMass men's lacrosse scoring list with 159 points on 105 goals and 54 assists. Leveille, a three-time USILA All-American (2001-03) tallied his best individual season as a senior, with 51 points on 34 goals and 17 assists.

The reigning world champion U.S. Men's National Team will compete at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships, hosted by U.S. Lacrosse on July 10-19, 2014, in Denver, Colo.
