Cyndil Matthew Named To Easton Fastpitch All-America Team

AMHERST, Mass. - Massachusetts softball standout Cyndil Matthew was named the to Easton Fastpitch All-America Team as announced on Wednesday.
Matthew earned second team honors for the second-consecutive year. She concluded her senior campaign fourth in the A-10 with a .380 avg. and first in steals with 31 (ninth in the nation). The Westfield, N.J. native was a three-time all-conference award recipient and a two-time first team winner.
She finished her career fourth in UMass history with a .362 batting avg., ninth with 124 runs scored, tied for fourth with a .443 on-base pct. and third with 92 stolen bases.
Matthew was named to the 14-member second team. Among the two Division I All-America teams selected, a total of 28 players from 16 schools were honored.
UMass has now had 33 All-America selections in program history, including at least one in each of the last 12 seasons.
She is currently in her first season with the NY/NJ Comets of the National Pro Fastpitch league.
