Temple (26-22, 13-5) outhit UMass 20-19 and had 11 home runs.
Game One
The Owls loaded the bases with no outs in the first and claimed a 3-0 lead on Stephanie Pasquale's 3-run double to the gap in left center.
UMass fought back to tie it using the long ball. Meeks led off the second with a solo blast before Diaz-Patterson followed an inning later with a two-run, opposite field shot to left.
Temple regained the lead with four runs in the fourth as they plated two on a passed ball and two more on a Kelsey Dominik home run to left for a 7-3 lead.
UMass scored twice more on a Diaz-Patterson run-scoring single and Meeks' second solo homer of the game, but it wasn't enough as Temple used three more home runs over the fifth and sixth innings to score five runs and secure the 12-5 win.
Game Two
Temple used seven home runs to claim a 10-4 victory, despite UMass outhitting the Owls 11-8.
After the Owls went up 1-0 in the first, the Minutewomen answered in the second with a two-run homer from Teea Rogers to take their first lead of the game. UMass extended the lead to 3-1 when Meeks doubled and scored on a Katie Bettencourt single.
Temple got solo homers from Sarah Prezioso in the third and Dominik in the fourth to tie the game at 3-3.
UMass retook the lead in the fifth on a Bettencourt RBI single that scored Diaz-Patterson.
The lead disappeared in the bottom of the fifth when Ali Robinson and Prezioso led off the inning with back-to-back homers. Dominik added her second of the game two outs later to give the Owls a 6-4 lead.
Temple put the game away in the sixth with a two-run blast, a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly to come away with the victory.
In addition to her three RBI on two home runs, Dominik (13-5) earned the win as she allowed four earned runs on 11 hits. She also struck out one and walked one.
UMass will return to action on Tuesday with a doubleheader at Rhode Island. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. and both games will be broadcast on the Internet at UMassAthletics.com.
