Sara Plourde Begins Professional Career Tonight

UMass softball alumnus Sara Plourde will dress for her first professional game tonight as a member of the Carolina Diamonds. The Diamonds have traveled to Ohio to face the Akron Racers at Firestone Stadium in Akron tonight at 7 p.m.

The 2012 NPF regular season opens on Thursday, June 7 with the Akron Racers hosting the Carolina Diamonds and the Chicago Bandits hosting the USSSA Pride. The regular season consists of 88 total games. The season culminates with a Championship Series that takes place in Rosemont, Ill. August 23-26.
