Boutin & Plourde Named To A-10 All-Tournament Team

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass softball senior first baseman Audrey Boutin and junior pitcher Sara Plourde were both named to the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of last week's Atlantic 10 Championship in Charlotte. Boutin hit .400 with a home run, while Plourde recorded 35 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched. UMass defeated Saint Joseph's 3-1 before dropping extra-inning games to Fordham and the Hawks.
Boutin was 4-for-10 at the playe in three games with a walk, double, and home run. She reached base at a .455 clip and slugged .800. The Bristol, Conn. native led UMass to a 3-1 win over St. Joe's with a 2-for-2 performance, with a walk and run scored. Boutin went 2-for-4 with a the tying home run that sent the game to extra innings vs. the Hawks in their second meeting.
Plourde went 1-2 on the week with a 2.24 ERA. She struck out 35 batters in 25 innings and held opposing batters to a .187 average. Also a native of Bristol, Conn., Plourde recorded her 27th win of the season, allowing just three hits and striking out 13 in the first game vs. St. Joe's. She allowed just four hits in nine innings against Fordham.
