AMHERST, Mass. - Four years ago this Saturday, May 29, 2006, the UMass men's lacrosse team played in the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship game after an amazing run to the national finals. The Minutemen became the first team ever to beat the No. 2, 3 and 4 seeds on the way to the championship game. UMass went on to play undefeated national champion Virginia in the final at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, falling to 15-7.
