UMass coach Greg Cannella on the game:
"We didn't get off to the start we wanted. We had more opportunities early in the game than they did, but didn't capitalize on them."

"I thought we had great momentum after halftime. Unfortunately we fouled too much in the third and fourth quarter, which took a lot of our momentum away."

"Some of them were effort fouls, so you can't knock the guys, but it took a lot of our momentum away,"

Cannella on Princeton's offense:
"It's hard to cover their top six guys. Good for them. They have guys who shoot the ball extremely well,"

Princeton coach Bill Tierney on UMass:
"Nobody's gone after us that hard. They're a tough, physical team. Doc, if he's not the best goalie in the country, maybe our guy is, or the one we faced last week (Brown's Jordan Burke). It's tough scoring on that guy. To get double figures on him, and to be up 6-1 at the half, we really felt good about that.

"I really didn't expect that today. I thought we executed as well as we could. That was a really good team with some really good offensive players, especially Jimmy Connolly. That kid is a heck of a player. Nobody has gone after us as hard as he did today and that's a credit to him."

Tierney on his team:
"It's nice to be back. I keep telling the kids, 'Don't think this stuff just happens.' It doesn't. Opportunities like this are few and far between and to be on the winning side again is certainly something special."

UMass goalie Doc Schneider on his four years at UMass:
"Now we don't have to hear about four years ago (being the last NCAA Tournament). Our main goal was to get back in this spot, where we thought the program should . Our four years have been interesting. Going through all the highs and lows gave us a lot of motivation."

"I (played with) two of the best attackers in the country (Connolly and Balise). Playing with them, playing with all the other seniors has been great. We definitely have something that we built here, that the underclassmen can build on."

UMass attack Jim Connolly on the game:
"I felt we came out at halftime with a lot of energy. We had a little bit of momentum going. But it's tough when you get down early and dig a big hole. We said at halftime we weren't going to quit. And we never stopped fighting all day."

Connolly on the program's resurgence:
"It's really frustrating. It's nice to get back (in the tournament), but we're disappointed. But we've left something to build on."

Princeton midfielder Mark Kovler on the game:
"To go out and do what we had to do to beat a really good team, that's what it's all about, especially after last year when Rich (Sglardi) and I weren't able to finish the season. We're just trying to make this one last as long as we can."

Princeton goalie Tyler Fioroto on his team:
"The seniors have been making the point all week that things like this do not come around very often, and that we have to make the most of what we have right now. We have a special team and we are going to ride it as far as we can go."
