Candice Molinari Named Dinn Brothers/UMass Athlete Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. -- University of Massachusetts senior center fielder Candice Molinari (Glendora, Calif.) has been selected as the UMass/Dinn Brothers Athlete of the Week. Molinari will be honored at Wednesday's Weekly Sports Luncheon from 12-1 in Campus Center Room 1009. The scheduled speakers include hockey coach Don Cahoon and Football coach Don Brown.
Molinari batted a team-high .538 (7-13) as UMass went 2-2-1 at the Campbell/Cartier Classic San Diego, Calif., against four nationally-ranked teams, Feb. 9-11. Molinari had a double, two RBI, six runs scored, was 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts and was also flawless in the field. She drew five walks while compiling a .667 on-base percentage and a .615 slugging percentage.
