Softball Announces Alumnae Weekend Plans

AMHERST, Mass. -- UMass head softball coach Elaine Sortino has announced the details for the annual UMass Softball Alumnae Weekend. It will begin with the alumnae softball game at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Oct. 7. That evening, a banquet will be held at the Massachusetts Room in the Mullins Center honoring the accomplishments of the 2006 NCAA Super Regional Finalist Minutewomen. The weekend concludes on Sunday, Oct. 8, with the fifth annual Golf Scramble held at the Pine Grove Golf Club of Northampton. Shotgun tee times begin at 10:00 AM. Come join us once again in honoring the 2006 Atlantic 10 Championship Softball team who continued the tradition of excellence by making their 12th straight and 16th overall NCAA Tournament appearance while taking eventual national runner-up Northwestern to a decisive third game in their best-of-three Super Regional series.
