BOSTON - Major League Lacrosse held its expansion draft on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and several former UMass lacrosse stars have new homes after the days events unfolded. Many of the former Minutemen who played for the Boston Cannons in 2005 will be in new locations in 2006 -- many of them in San Francisco.
UMass Hall of Famer Mark Millon and MLL's all-time leading scorer was picked by San Francisco in the second round.
San Francisco also selected defenseman Tom Fallon in the fourth round. The Bay area team continued to stock pile UMass players as rookie Jeff Zywicki was picked in the seventh round from the MLL Player Pool.
Following the draft, Kevin Leveille was traded by the Cannons to the new Chicago team. Leveille finished the 2005 season second in the MLL in goals and first in power play goals.
