Softball Announces Fall Schedule

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts softball team recently announced its fall season schedule. The defending Atlantic 10 Champions will lead off the fall campaign on Sept. 10, when it hosts Assumption College. The Minutewomen will then host the UMass Invitational on Sept. 16, with contests versus Boston College and American International College. On Sept. 17, UMass will match up with Long Island University and Merrimack College, both games to be played in Amherst, Mass. The squad will then wrap up the fall schedule in Vernon, Conn., at the UConn Invitational.
UMass made their 10th NCAA appearance last season and won their 13th Atlantic 10 regular season and tournament title, posting a 35-23 overall record during the 2000 campaign.
