After a standout career as a forward for the Minutewomen, Sydney Stoll returned to her alma mater in 2014 as an assistant coach on Ed Matz's staff.
 
In her role as assistant coach, Stoll works daily in all aspects of team training, analyzes team and opponent film, and is a top recruiter. She is involved in all facets of daily operations, practice planning, team logistics, and operation of the program’s camps and clinics through the Top 100 Girls Soccer Academy.
 
Stoll appeared in a total of 58 career matches between 2006-10 including 48 starts. That total included all 19 in 2009 after sitting out the 2008 campaign with an injury. The Dedham, Mass., native compiled 33 career points on 14 goals and five assists, including four game winners. She posted a career-best 15 points on six goals and three assists over 11 games in 2007.
 
As a senior, she was named the team’s co-captain and was a selection to the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team. She also played for the New England Mutiny of the Women’s Professional Soccer League.
 
Following her career at UMass, Stoll served as the Assistant Girls Director for the Scorpions Soccer Club in 2011 before taking over as the Director of Coaching from 2013-15. Stoll coached multiple teams within the ECNL from 2013-2015. In addition to her work with the UMass women’s program, she also serves as the Girls Operations Director and ECNL Liaison for the FC Boston Scorpions club program.
 
As a youth player, Stoll played seven seasons for Scorpions Soccer Club in Massachusetts where she helped the program win six state championships. As a standout at Dedham High School, she was inducted into the Dedham High School athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.
 
Stoll graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 2011 with a degree in psychology and education.
