Kurtz Tabbed Atlantic 10 Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse junior attackman Charles Kurtz has been chosen as the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. It marks Kurtz's first career weekly honor and the seventh weekly award for the Gorillas this season.
Kurtz led all scorers with a career high five goal performance in UMass' 14-12 victory over Saint Joseph's this past Saturday. In a back-and-forth matchup that featured 10 ties and four lead changes, the Cheshire, Connecticut native had important momentum-shifting goals. His second of the contest leveled things at 4-4, ending a 3-0 Hawks' run in the first.
He also put UMass on top 7-6 in the second and 11-10 in the fourth as the Gorillas did not trail from that point on. Kurtz later added the final tally of the afternoon to help seal the victory and end Saint Joe's chance at a rally.
On the year, Kurtz has 29 points over 11 games, good for third on the squad and ranks second in goals with 24.
The Gorillas will be back in action this Saturday, April 11, when the squad will play host to Delaware at 2 p.m. on Garber Field.
