RICHMOND, Va. -- The no. 1 seeded Minutewomen advanced to their 17th consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship game, facing Saint Joseph's on Sunday, May 4 at 12 p.m. at Robins Stadium. THE MAtchup
- Sunday's matchup marks the 39th meeting between the two programs with Massachusetts holding a 35-3 record all-time in the series.
- The Minutewomen claimed a competitive 14-11 victory over the Hawks in Philadelphia earlier this season.
- The two programs have faced each other three times in the A-10 Championship Finals with Massachusetts holding a 2-1 record.
LAST TIME OUT
- Massachusetts women's lacrosse clinched its 17th consecutive A-10 Championship Final appearance, defeating Richmond 16-11 on Friday afternoon at Robins Stadium.
- The Minutewomen never trailed in the matchup, holding advantages in shots on goal (26-14), draw controls (17-12) and caused turnovers (8-5).
- Kassidy Morris led the scoring charge for the Minutewomen, totaling seven points on five goals and two assists. The Washago, Ontario native has now scored four or more goals in 14 consecutive matchups.
- Ava Connaughton had a stellar semifinal from the X position, recording five points on four goals and an assist. Delaney Rodriguez-Shaw secured the third hat trick of the day for Massachusetts, scoring three goals on three shots.
- Lauren Tolve was all over the field recording two assists to go along with a goal and four draw controls. Jordan Dean continued to dominate in the circle, collecting a game-high 10 draw controls in the semifinal.
A-10 Championship History
- Massachusetts is seeking its 12th A-10 Tournament Championship and first since 2021 when they defeated Saint Joseph's 18-7 in Amherst, Massachusetts.
- The Minutewomen hold a 30-12 record in A-10 Championship play, winning nine consecutive tournament titles from 2009 through 2016.
- The 2025 A-10 Regular Season Champions, Massachusetts has recorded 16 straight seasons with either a regular season or tournament title.
On the Sideline
- Head Coach Jana Drummond enters her third season at the helm of the Minutewomen, holding a career record of 43-11 (.796). Drummond has coached the Minutewomen to the Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship in all three seasons, coaching six major conference award winners.
- Assistant Lia Laprise enters her second season in Amherst, coming to UMass after a standout career at UConn, where she finished her career as the program's all-time leader in points and assists.
- Assistant Avergy Giorgio begins her tenure with the Minutewomen after two stints as an assistant women's lacrosse coach at Trinity College. A former Division I Lacrosse player at Holy Cross and assistant at both the club level and Trinity College, Giorgio brings immense experience to the Massachusetts program.
- Program alum Kendra Harbinger returns as Director of Player Development after playing her graduate season with the Minutewomen in 2022. Harbinger earned IWLCA Second-Team All-Region and second-team all-league honors in 2022 after leading Mass in points with 62 and goals with 49.
