Minutewomen Claim 19-7 Win Over George Washington in Nation’s Capital

AMHERST, MASS. -- Massachusetts women's lacrosse (5-3, 3-0 A-10) claimed its third straight win with a 19-7 victory over George Washington (5-4, 0-3) on Saturday afternoon at GW Lacrosse Field.
The Minutewomen controlled much of the action holding a strong advantage in shots (42-18), shots on goal (26-7) and draw controls (17-8) in the matchup. Massachusetts held a narrow one-goal advantage after 15 minutes of play, but utilized a 6-0 second quarter to claim a dominant lead they would not relinquish.
Jordan Dean once again helped the Minutewomen dominate possession, recording 12 draw controls on the day. Dean has now totaled 534 draw controls in her Massachusetts career, passing Hannah Murphy (522) for the all-time program record.
Kassidy Morris continued to pace the offensive effort, tallying a game-high seven points on five goals and two assists. The performance marks her fourth game this season with five or more goals.
Tessa Shields recorded her seventh consecutive multi-goal game, totaling four points on three goals and an assist. Ava Connaughton also tallied four points, scoring two goals to go along with a pair of assists.
The Revolutionaries were led by Everly Kessler and Grace Curry who each scored two goals on the afternoon.
