Minutewomen Split Day Two at Camel Stampede

UMass moves to 3-1 to start the 2025 season
BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Massachusetts (3-1) split two games on day two at the Camel Stampede, defeating ETSU (0-3) followed by a loss to Campbell (3-1) on Saturday.
The Minutewomen completed the series sweep against ETSU, shutting out the Bucs 2-0 in the first game of the day. Freshman Olivia Cutuli threw a complete game shutout in her collegiate debut, striking out five batters. Brooke Musch (1 H, 1 RBI) and Riain Keefe (2 H, 1 RBI) led the offense in the first game of the day, each batting home one run in the fifth inning to seal the 2-0 victory.
UMass' three-game win streak came to an end in the second game of Saturday's double-header, falling 4-3 to Campbell to split the series.
It was a back-and-forth affair throughout the entirety of the game, with Sarah Keagy doubling in the top of the first to bring home Musch and take the early lead. Campbell wouldanswer with two runs in the bottom half of the frame to swing momentum in their favor heading into the second inning. A sacrifice fly by Musch brought Riley Kairer around to tie the game, followed by Hannah Streicher retiring three-of-four batters faced to keep the score level. Angie Rama breifly retook the lead for Massachusetts with an RBI single, however the Fighting Camels would answer with a two-run inning in the bottom of the third. UMass was unable to pull ahead in the closing frames as both sides went scoreless in the remaining four innings to cement the 4-3 loss.
