Women’s Soccer’s Peric And Recinos Named To Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team

Minutewomen voted fourth in the A-10 preseason poll.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – University of Massachusetts women's soccer graduate student Hannah Peric and senior Bella Recinos earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team, with Peric being one of four defenders and Recinos being one of three midfielders, as announced by the league on Wednesday morning. Additionally, the program was picked to finish fourth in the A-10 Women's Soccer Preseason Poll.
 
Peric was a key member of the UMass defense, registering 1,539 minutes in all 18 games last season. She helped the Minutewomen to nine shutouts on the year, including six at home. Peric registered two points on one goal, matching a career-high, while totaling 11 shots with six on target. She notched the game-winning goal in the 5-0 victory on the road against Davidson last season.
 
Recinos, the A-10 Midfielder of the Year and an A-10 All-Conference First Team member, led the team last year in points (19), goals (seven) and assists (five). She recorded a team-high 35 shots with a team-best 20 on net and scored the most game-winning goals on the team, registering four. Recinos dished out a career-high two assists at Davidson last year and tallied a career-best four points with the game-winning goal and a career-high matching two assists against Loyola Chicago. The Winter Park, Florida, native, ranked ninth in the league with seven goals and finished second in the league in game-winning goals with four. She also posted 19 points to place fourth in the A-10. Recinos also collected United Soccer Coaches All-East Second Team and ECAC Division I Women's Soccer All-ECAC First Team honors.
 
Last season, UMass finished with a 9-5-4 overall record and a 6-6-2 mark in the conference play. Massachusetts shutout nine opponents, including six at Rudd Field.
 
The Minutewomen return 20 players from last season's team, including Recinos and Peric. Graduate students Ella Curry, Karina Groff, Bella Mendoza and Grace Pinkus also rejoin the Minutewomen for the 2024 season.
 
Additonally, UMass welcomes nine newcomers for the 2024 campaign. The group features sophomore Calista Vlahos from Massachusetts, and freshmen Morgan Bellamy, Amelia Bloom, Libby Fisher, Sophia Foley, Annie McCaffrey, Leah Nisenfeld, Julia Rosenberg and Amanda Schultz.
 
UMass opens the 2024 regular season on Thursday, August 15 at Syracuse at 7 p.m., and will begin A-10 play on Thursday, September 19, hosting Saint Louis at Rudd Field at 4 p.m.
