University of Massachusetts Women's Track & Field Finish Regular Season At UNH

DURHAM, N.H.- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team finished up the regular season at the UNH Pre-Conference Meet on Saturday. The Minutewomen had six athletes win their events on the day.
Highlights from competition:
- Sophomore Megan Frazee won the pole vault in a jump off with a mark of 12' 5.5".
- Natalie Krysta won the discus with a throw of 143' 4". Gabriella Pagnini was the next Minutewoman in the event, coming in fourth while Madelyn Bishop finished sixth.
- Two throwers finished in the top eight of the shot put. Tess Rancourt claimed fourth with a throw of 42' 9" while Gabriella Pagnini came in seventh with a throw of 40' 11".
- Courtney Rowland, Marielsa McBride and Tessa Bostwick all came in the top five in the high jump. Rowland won the event with a jump of 5' 5.75" while McBride and Bostwick finished third and fourth respectively.
- The Minutewomen swept the podium in the 100m hurdles. Katelyn Gorgenyi won gold with a time of 14.76 while Jennifer Williams finished second and Elizabeth Lee came in third.
- UMass athletes took the top four spots in the 800m led by Elise O'Leary's time of 2:11.05. Behind her in order was Sarah Witt, Simone Harrison, and Hannah Rose Beckman.
- Bridget Lee was the top UMass finisher in the long jump, placing fifth with a jump of 18' 4.5".
- Rylee Davis won the 3000m steeplechase, stopping the clock at 11:47.71.
- Lara Mannes Diaz de Cerio and Rylee Shunney both had podium finishes in the 1500m. Mannes Diaz de Cerio placed second with a time of 4:37.08 while Shunney was behind her in third.
- Ali Murphy placed second in the 400m as the top Minutewomen with a time of 57.79.
- Victoria Hernandez came in fifth with a time of 13.08 in the 100m.
- Judith Okwara was the top UMass runner in the 400m hurdles with a finishing time of 1:06.92.
- Freshman Grace Hanafin placed fourth in the 200m with a time of 26.62.
The Minutewomen will head to Fairfax, Virginia next weekend as they compete in the Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th.
