Cadet, Thundal Medal At Day Two Of MAC Outdoor Championships

MUNCIE, Ind. — The University of Massachusetts women's track and field program ranks fifth place after the second day of competition at the MAC Outdoor Championships at the Briner Sports Complex. Shakira Cadet and Agnes Thundal each secured medals on the day, as Cadet won the long jump and Thundal took silver in the 3k steeplechase. 

Highlights from Competition
  • Tesaira Williams placed sixth in the women's heptathlon with a total score of 4788. 
  • Jennifer Williams qualified for the women's 100m hurdles finals with a time of 14.22, taking eighth. 
  • Leila Metres placed 11th in the women's 400m run with a time of 56.11. Ashley Johnson finished in 13th with a performance of 56.44. 
  • Jana DeRaedt (19th) and Jillian Strynar (20th) placed consecutively in the women's 100m dash with times of  12.07 and 12.08, respectively. 
  • Lara Mannes Diaz de Cerio qualified for the women's 800m run finals with a fifth-place time of 2:08.58. 
  • Agnes Thundal earned silver in the women's 3k steeplechase with a time of 10:19.23. 
  • Natalie Krysta earned points in the women's shotput with a toss of 45'11.50", securing seventh place. 
  • Shakira Cadet won gold in the women's long jump with a leap of 20'3".
