Frazee Sets School Record In Day One Of Atlantic 10 Championship

FAIRFAX, Va.- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team sits in seventh after day one of the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Minutewomen currently have 21 points while host George Mason leads the field with a score of 37.5.

 

Highlights from competition:

  • Sophomore Megan Frazee led the Minutewomen on day one, earning a gold medal in the pole vault. Her jump of 13' 1.5" also bests her own school record which she set at last year's meet.
  • Rebecca Hartman won the second medal of the day for the Minutewomen. The graduate student took home a bronze medal in the 10000m with a time of 35:49.69.
  • Anna Cozzolino took sixth in the javelin with a throw of 127' 8".
  • Tiarra Deveaux was the top Minutewoman in the long jump, leaping 18'10" to earn UMass two points.
  • Katelyn Gorgenyi qualified for tomorrow's 110m hurdles final. Gorgenyi finished with a season best time of 14.60 in the prelims to take fifth.
 

The Minutewomen will be back in action tomorrow morning for day two of the Atlantic 10 Championships.
