Massachusetts Hockey Returns To NCAA Tournament For Fifth Time In Program History

The Minutemen, co-hosts of the Springfield Regional, will play at the MassMutual Center on Thursday as the No. 4 Seed.

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey has earned its fourth NCAA appearance in the past five tournaments and fifth overall and will play in the Springfield Regional as the No. 4 Seed at the MassMutual Center on Thursday, March 28. The Minutemen, co-hosts of the Springfield Regional, will open the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Hockey Championship by facing No. 1 seed (No. 3 overall) Denver in the Regional Semifinal at 2 p.m. on ESPN2.

The winner will advance to the Regional Championship on Saturday, March 30, vs. the winner of Thursday's No. 2 Maine vs. No. 3 Cornell matchup at 4 p.m., which will be televised on ESPNU.

UMass, who won the NCAA Championship in 2021, is seeking its third Frozen Four appearance in the past five tournaments and has a record of 8-3 in the national postseason tournament, 7-2 under head coach Greg Carvel.
