Massachusetts Diving Trio Heads To NCAA Zone A Diving Championships

Bell, Cotner and Sinha ready for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, starting on Monday, March 11.
AMHERST, Mass. – Sophomore Andrew Bell, graduate student Tommy Cotner and sophomore Shreeya Sinha are set to compete in the 2024 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, hosted by Princeton, on Monday, March 11 through Tuesday, March 12, in Princeton, New Jersey at DeNunzio Pool.
2024 Atlantic 10 Championship Diving Recap
The Massachusetts diving team collected three medals at this year's Atlantic 10 Championships meet. Bell earned the gold in both the one-meter (381.75) and the three-meter (406.95) dives, while Sinha took home the bronze in the three-meter dive with a personal-best total of 297.45. Cotner placed sixth in the one-meter dive with a score of 301.35 before finishing sixth in the three-meter dive with total of 321.30. In the preliminaries, Cotner registered a six-dive total of 337.05 in the three-meter, marking a personal-best.
Atlantic 10's Most Outstanding
Bell was named the Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Men's Diver of the Year at the 2024 A-10 Championships, while diving coach Missy Bernosky earned the Atlantic 10 Men's Diving Coach of the Year accolades.
Returning to Zones
Bell and Cotner return to the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships for the second year in a row. Bell competed in both events, finishing the one-meter dive with a score of 587.10 to place 14th, while taking 18th in the three-meter dive with a score of 623.30 in the finals. Cotner completed the one-meter dive in 31st-place with a total of 258.85.
What's At Stake
Bell, Cotner and Sinha are fighting for spots in the 2024 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The women's championships being held in Athens, Georgia, at Jack Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium on Wednesday, March 20 through Saturday, March 23, while the men's championship will be held from Wednesday, March 27 through Saturday, March 30, at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana. Bell and Cotner will be competing in the men's one- and three-meter dives, as Sinha will compete in the women's three-meter.
