Softball Adds Four Signees to Incoming Freshman Class

AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts softball program has added four signees to the incoming freshman class, announced by the program on Tuesday.
 
"I am excited to add these four players to our team" stated head coach Danielle Henderson. "They will bring great ability and competitiveness on the field."
 
Kelsey Blanchette | 6'1 | RHP | Sudbury, Mass.
During her time at Lincoln Sudbury, Blanchette started for varsity all four years of her high school career. the 6'1 pitcher proved to be a leader, being the team captain two times, and leading her team to the most successful record in school history, 21-2 in 2024, and made it to the elite 8 for the first time in program history. Blanchette was named two-time Dual County Large Conference Player of the Year, 2023 MetroWest Softball MVP, and two- time Boston Herald and Boston Globe All-Scholastic Award Recipient, proving herself as a force to be reckoned with. 
 
Brooke Moloney | 5'2 | OF | Lynn, Mass.
During her time at St. Mary's Lynn, Moloney was a three-time CCL All Conference Allstar from 2022-2024 and Holland Tournament MVP 2022 and 2023. She played multiple sports in high school, being a 3 three-time basketball state champion with St. Mary's, and a CCL Allstar in Soccer from 2022-2024, creating a name for herself as a high-caliber player in three sports.
 
"I chose UMass because after meeting the coaches and players, visiting the facility and networking with the school community, I realized this was the best fit for me."
 
Brenna Rush | 5'9 | Catcher/Utility | Trinity Fla.
During her time at J.W. Mitchell in Trinity, Florida, Rush helped her team win the conference championship from 2022-2024. Rush proved herself to be a star centerfielder, with two 1st Team All-Conference titles, and an offensive powerhouse, with a 1st Team All-Conference title for Utility/DH. 
 
"I chose UMass because it felt like home, and I heard the food was good. Everyone I met was incredibly nice and supportive."
 
Tiegan Walsh | 5'7 | C/IF | Sterling, Mass.
During her time at Wachusett Regional, Walsh established herself as a star, starting on varsity all four years of her high school career. She had 100 hits, 67 RBIs, and 85 runs, proving herself to be a machine on offense. The 5'7 infielder and catcher led her team to 2 Central Mass Champions, one in 2022 and one in 2024.
