A Career-High 20 Points from Olbrys Powers UMass to Dominant Victory Over Monmouth

AMHERST, Mass. – The Minutewomen (2-2, 0-0 A-10) made their presence felt in front of the Massachusetts faithful, claiming a dominating 76-53 win over Monmouth (0-4, 0-0 CAA) on Friday night.
Megan Olbrys continued to dominate the interior, tallying a career-high 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals on 7-12 shooting from the field. Olbrys scored 10 of her 20 in the fourth quarter going 3-3 from the field and 4-4 from the charity stripe in the final 10 minutes.
Point guard Yahmani McKayle carried the momentum from her career game against CCSU, scoring 17 points on 7-12 shooting from the field and 50% from behind the arc. McKayle added six assists, five rebounds, two steals, and one block to cap off a strong performance on both ends.
Freshman Jess Ross was a spark plug off the bench, putting together a career-high six points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocks in 20 minutes of action. Ross helped energize the Massachusetts 23-5 run in the second quarter, scoring her first career basket and grabbing seven rebounds in just nine minutes.
