Olbrys, Palmieri Sign Professional Contracts Overseas

AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts forward Megan Olbrys and guard Allie Palmieri have officially signed professional contracts for the 2026-27 season to continue their basketball careers. Olbrys inked a contract with professional French program Cavigal Nice Basket 06, and Palmieri signed with Battipaglia in the Italian Series A1.
Olbrys wrapped up an impressive two seasons with the Minutewomen, making 60 appearances for the Maroon and White, logging nearly 2,000 minutes at UMass. Starting in all 60 games in the last two seasons, Olbrys has scored over 830 points and grabbed over 480 rebounds for UMass, recording 16 double doubles.
The Norwood, Mass. Native was a mainstay of the UMass front court this past season, averaging averaged 13.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, ranking sixth in the conference in rebounds per game and 50th nationally in field goal percentage (51.3 percent). Olbrys surpassed the 500-career rebound mark this season and had her highlight moment with a game-winning shot against then-undefeated in conference opponent Miami (OH). For her play last season, Olbrys was named to the All-MAC Second Team.
Palmieri rounded out a strong two years at UMass, making 59 appearances for Massachusetts, logging over 1,900 minutes and 58 starts over her two seasons at UMass. The Trumbull, Conn. Native registered over 730 points, 230 rebounds and 100 assists for the Minutewomen, recording five 20-point games.
Palmieri had a career year for UMass in 2025-26, averaging 13.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.89 three-pointers per game in her final season for the Minutewomen. She ranked 16th in the conference in scoring and sixth in total made threes. Palmieri scored in double figures in 18 of the final 19 games of the season, including two 20-point performances. The graduate guard hit at least one triple in 26 of the 28 games she appeared in, including a career-high five against Central Michigan.
