Women's Basketball Set To Host Mashall On Nov. 2 In MAC-SBC Challenge

AMHERST, Mass. — The University of Massachusetts women's basketball team is set to host Marshall on Monday, November 2, at a time to be determined in the Mullins Center as the first matchup of the MAC-SBC Basketball Challenge, as announced by the Mid-American Conference on Thursday.
It will mark the first time in program history that the two programs will meet.
The MAC-SBC Basketball Challenge is a competition between the two conferences consisting of the 12 MAC men's and women's basketball teams facing off against 12 Sun Belt teams in a pair of contests each year. Each MAC and Sun Belt team included in the MAC-SBC Challenge is guaranteed one home and one away game each season.
The second round, scheduled for Saturday, February 6, will feature Sun Belt women's teams hosting MAC opponents.
Last season the Minutewomen went 1-1 in the MAC-SBC Challenge, besting Old Dominion in their season opener 58-52, before falling to James Madison on February 8.
