UMass’ Connors Selected To Hockey East All-Rookie Team

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts freshman forward Kenny Connors has been selected to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team, the league announced on Wednesday. Connors is the 16th Minuteman in program history to earn the recognition as it marks the sixth straight year UMass has had at least one member of the all-rookie squad.
Connors, a two-time Hockey East Rookie of the Week and the Hockey East Rookie of the Month for October finished the regular season tied for the team lead in goals with nine and second in points and assists with 26 and 17, respectively. He has three power-play goals, one shorthanded tally and two game winners to his credit in 31 games of action.
In Hockey East play, he finished tied for second on the team in points with 17 over 24 contests and tied for the team lead in goals with six against league foes.
Entering the postseason, Connors ranks sixth in among Hockey East rookies in points, tied for seventh in goals. In conference games, he was sixth among first-year players in points (17) and eighth in goals (6).
