Hockey's Connors Named To Watch List For Tim Taylor Award - National Rookie Of The Year

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey freshman forward Kenny Connors has been named to a "Watch List" of 27 first-year NCAA men's hockey players for the Tim Taylor Award (National Rookie of the Year), the Hockey Commissioners Association announced on Thursday.

At season's end, a ballot consisting of each Division I conference's Rookie of the Year will be presented to the assistant coaches and they will vote, one vote per school, to identify the winner. This year's National Rookie of the Year will be announced during the Frozen Four in Tampa in April.

With 23 games played this season, Connors currently ranks second for the Minutemen in points with 20 on seven goals (tied for team lead) and 13 assists and is +1 with seven multi-point games on the year. He has two power-play goals, one shorthanded goal and two game winners. The two-time Hockey East Rookie of the Week and October Rookie of the Month, is currently tied for seventh in Hockey East in freshman scoring.
