Massachusetts Lands 19 On 2021-22 Hockey East All-Academic Team

Bohlinger and Donaldson named Hockey East’s Top Scholar-Athletes, Academic All-Star Team honorees.
AMHERST, Mass. – Nineteen members of the University of Massachusetts hockey program are among a league-record 186 student-athletes named to the 2021-22 Men's All-Academic Team, Hockey East announced on Monday. Each individual posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher in each academic period during which they were actively competing in Hockey East.
In addition sophomore defenseman Aaron Bohlinger and graduate student forward Cam Donaldson were two of 11 players to earn the prestigious honor of being named Hockey East's Top Scholar-Athlete after compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA for the season and were selected to the 2021-22 Hockey East Academic All-Star Team.
Nineteen players around the league reached "Distinguished Scholar" status in 2021-22, having qualified for the All-Academic team in each of four seasons of varsity play, including UMass' Anthony Del Gaizo and Colin Felix, while Matt Murray was one of seven individuals to earn All-Academic recognition for five straight years.
Eric Faith, Matthew Kessel, Cal Kiefiuk, Reed Lebster and Bobby Trivigno were part of a group of 39 three-time honorees in Hockey East.
Six Minutemen earned their second All-Academic Team nods: Linden Alger, Bohlinger, Henry Graham, Jerry Harding, Josh Lopina and Ryan Sullivan, while there were five first-time selections from UMass—Eric DeDobbelaer, Slava Demin, Donaldson, Oliver MacDonald and Ryan Ufko.
