A strong defensive effort to go along with seven goals from Kevin Tobin and Procyk are keys to the victory for the Gorillas.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse set the tone by holding No. 17 Brown off the scoreboard in the first quarter and came away with a 10-7 victory over the Bears on the road on Saturday for the team's fourth straight win. Over X, Caleb Hammett won 8 of 16 faceoffs and collected five groundballs.

It took until the 6:19 mark of the first quarter, but Kevin Tobin opened the scoring and UMass led 1-0 through 15 minutes of play.

Brown responded with a 3-0 run with three tallies in 2 minutes, 32 seconds before Procyk and and Kevin Tobin knotted the score back up at 3-3. The Bears added two more before Shane O'Leary made it a one-goal game at the break on a dish from Tobin.

Kevin Tobin started off the second half with his third of the day before Griffin King gave Brown the lead one final time at the 13:26 mark, 6-5. UMass then proceeded to hold the Bears scoreless for the next 26 minutes while putting up five straight tallies before George Grell broke up the drought for the Bears with the final tally of the game with 2:25 to go in the fourth after the Gorillas had built a four-goal cushion with under three minutes to play.
