Last time out 

  • The University of Massachusetts women's lacrosse team (3-2) took their second loss of the season, falling to the University of Connecticut Huskies (4-1) on Saturday afternoon. The Minutewomen fell 17-14.
  • Kendra Harbinger notched a hat-trick, netting three goals on five attempts for three total points, while five Minutewomen had multi-goal games. Leading with Harbinger, Olivia Muscella, Julia Smith, and Fiona McGowan each tallied three points on two goals and one assist each.
  • Audra Tosone picked up six ground balls to lead UMass, also forcing four turnovers. Amy Moreau notched a season high seven draw controls, caused three turnovers, and picked up two ground balls in the effort.
  • The Minutewomen held a 32-27 advantage in shots, putting 25 on goal. Massachusetts also went 13-16 on clears and caused 18 turnovers. Gina Carroll tallied seven saves in 60 minutes in goal.

The Last Time vs. Vanderbilt

  • After going into halftime with just a one-goal lead, the No. 13 UMass women's lacrosse team scored four straight goals after the intermission and held Vanderbilt to just two in the second half to take a 13-6 win at the VU Lacrosse Complex in the season-opener.
  • Senior attack Katie Ferris broke the program's all-time goals record with four on the day giving her 171 for her career.
  • The Minutewomen held a 28-to-16 shot advantage and a 13-to-7 edge in draw controls. Ground balls also favored UMass 23-to-15.

Head Strong

  • The Massachusetts women's lacrosse program participated in the Head Strong Foundations, Hair Havoc game for cancer on March 5 against UConn.

  • Under the Headstrong Foundation, graduate midfielder, Olivia Muscella has created Kendra's Kindness Foundation in honor of her mother. All proceeds from the March 5 contest were donated to families effected by cancer in the name of the Kendra's Kindness Foundation. 
  • The fundraiser is a season-long effort as the Minutewomen work to benefit more families impacted my cancer. 
Commodores this season 

  • The Commodores are heading into the contest with a 3-2 record on the season. 
  • Their most recent loss coming against No. 12 ranked Denver on March 6. 
  • Bri Gross leads Vanderbilt with 13 goals and two assists to have 15 points.
  • On the defensive side for the Commodores, Melissa Hawkins leads with a team high 11 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. 
  • Paige Gunnings holds a 3-2 record between the pipes. She's tallied 266:37 minutes with 39 saves on the year.
