Massachusetts Men's Lacrosse Reveals 2023 Schedule

The slate features six NCAA Tournament teams and three more squads that reached their conference's title games in 2022.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse has announced its 2023 schedule, which features six matchups against 2022 NCAA Tournament teams and three more against squads that reached the conference championship games in their respective leagues. The Gorillas will open the 2023 campaign against Army on Garber Field on Saturday, February 11 at noon.

UMass will travel to UMass Lowell for a Friday afternoon matchup against the River Hawks on February 17 at 1 p.m. The squad will then return to Amherst for a two-game homestand, beginning with 2022 Patriot League champion Boston University on Saturday, February 25, at 3:15 p.m.

The Gorillas will host 2022 NCAA Tournament participant Yale on Saturday, March 4 at noon, before making a quick turnaround to play at UAlbany on Tuesday, March 7 at 3 p.m.

Massachusetts will travel to Burlington, Vermont on Saturday, March 11, to face 2022 America East champion Vermont at 1 p.m., before settling in at home for its next three matchups.

The Maroon & White will wrap up its non-conference slate by playing host to a pair of 2022 NCAA Tournament teams in Rutgers and Brown on Saturday, March 18, and Saturday, March 25, respectively. Both contests are set for 1 p.m. starts.

On Saturday, April 1, the Gorillas will embark on their inaugural Atlantic 10 season, when High Point comes to Garber Field for the A-10 opener at 1 p.m.
Massachusetts will head to Richmond, Virginia to take on A-10 foe Richmond on Saturday, April 8, at 1 p.m. The Spiders departed the SoCon as conference champions and earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament last season.

St. Bonaventure, who reached the MAAC Championship game in 2022 and finished the year at 11-4, will visit Amherst as an Atlantic 10 member on Saturday, April 15 for a 1 p.m. matchup against UMass.

The Gorillas will travel to Philadelphia to take on Saint Joseph's on Saturday, April 22, at 1 p.m. The Hawks won the Northeast Conference title in 2022 and reached the NCAA Tournament.

Massachusetts is set to wrap up the regular season on Friday, April 28, hosting Hobart at 5 p.m. on Garber Field. The Statesmen are coming off a 7-6 season and a trip to the Northeast Conference final last spring.

The inaugural Atlantic 10 Men's Lacrosse Tournament is scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, May 4-6 in Richmond, Virginia.
