Swimming And Diving Places Second At Boston College Invitational

The Minutemen and Minutewomen finished second in the team scoring on Saturday afternoon.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts swimming and diving team picked up a pair of second-place finishes in the team scoring at the Boston College Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Minutewomen scored 703.5 points to take second while the Minutemen finished as the runner-up in the team scoring with 616.5 points.

Event Wins
Massachusetts claimed six individual wins on the afternoon, led by four first-place finishes for the Minutewomen. Beatriz Olivieri posted the top swim in the 200 Free with a time of 1:54.95 for the first individual event win of the day. Megan Mitchell led three Minutewomen in the top five of the 100 Back with a top time of 57.69 while Bri Williams and Caroline Mahoney rounded out the top five. Mahoney went on to win the 100 Free later in the day with a time of 53.15.
Emerson Kiefer recorded a pair of top-two individual finishes, including a first-place swim of 1:43.26 in the 200 Fly. Kiefer added a runner-up showing in the 500 Free with a time of 4:43.37 as part of three Minutemen in the top four as Wilson Dubois and Juan Montori took third and fourth, respectively. Jamie MacDonald claimed the final individual win of the day in the 200 Fly with a winning swim of 1:54.02.
200 Fly Sweep
The Minutewomen swept the top-three spots in the 200 Fly led by a winning swim of 2:06.65 by Summer Pierce. Beatriz Olivieri finished as the runner-up while Anna Kwon rounded out the top three finishers.
Top Finishes
The UMass women added multiple top-three finishes on the day, including two swimmers in the top-three of the 500 Free led by Olivieri's runner-up swim of 5:13.68 with Bella Snyder in third at 5:14.02. Lauren Stott clocked in a runner-up swim of 2:07.31 in the 200 Back while Summer Pierce posted a top-three finish in the 100 Fly with a time of 58.18 to take third.
Ending The Day With A Win
Both the Minutemen and Minutewomen ended the meet with wins in the 200 Free Relay. McKenna Johnson, Ashley Calderon, Caroline Mahoney, and Maggie Desmond put together a time of 1:38.74 to win the 200 Free Relay for the Minutewomen. Grant Beebe, Joe Tonna, Sammy Quigg, and Juan Montori combined for a winning swim of 1:25.07 for the Minutemen.
Diving Results
Andrew Bell led a pair of Minutemen to top-three finishes in the 1-Meter Dive with a score of 269.55 to take second while Tommy Cotner finished in third. Bell also posted the runner-up score in the 3-Meter Dive with 260.30 with Cotner in fourth.
Emma Petrovich led the Minutewomen divers on the day with a pair of second-place finishes. Petrovich led three divers in the top-five of the 1-Meter Dive with a runner-up score of 251.10 with Shreeya Sinha and Salem Howes rounding out the top-five. Petrovich took second in the 3-Meter Dive as well with Howes recording another top-five finish.
