Begliardi Ghidini Named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player Of The Week

Filippo Begliardi Ghidini scored two goals in a pair of road wins for the Minutemen.

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts forward Filippo Begliardi Ghidini was named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon after putting home two goals in a pair of wins for the Minutemen last week.

Begliardi Ghidini's (Ravenna, Italy) first goal of the week was a game-winner in the 103rd-minute on the road at UMass Lowell as the forward headed home a goal to give UMass a 2-1 win in double overtime. Begliardi Ghidini opened up the scoring in the ninth-minute on Sunday in a 2-1 win at Saint Joseph's with his team-leading fifth goal of the season. The graduate student put four of his six shot attempts on target for the week.

The Minutemen break from Atlantic 10 play for a Tuesday night matchup at Yale before getting back into conference play on Saturday at Dayton.
