AMHERST, Mass. – Sixteen University of Massachusetts hockey student-athletes have been recognized by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) for their work in the classroom in 2020-21, earning the title of Krampade All-American Scholars, the AHCA announced on Monday.
Forwards Anthony Del Gaizo, Eric Faith, Jerry Harding, Cal Kiefiuk, Philip Lagunov, Reed Lebster, Josh Lopina, George Mika and Bobby Trivigno, defensemen Aaron Bohlinger, Gianfranco Cassaro, Matthew Kessel and Kolby Vegara, and goaltenders Henry Graham, Filip Lindberg and Matt Murray represented the Minutemen on the list of 532 Division I men's hockey student-athletes.
Due to the effects of COVID-19, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year's honorees. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.6 GPA for each semester, regardless of whether the school's hockey team was able to play this season or not.
Trivigno was one of four All-American Scholars that also earned All-America honors for their on-ice performances in 2020-21, one of two First Team All-Americans, joining Minnesota's Jack LaFontaine.
Del Gaizo, Lagunov, Mika and Lindberg earned the accolade for a third time in their careers, while Faith, Lebster and Murray picked up their second All-American Scholar recognitions.
